Softball Picked Fifth in A-10 Preseason Poll

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Temple softball team has been picked to finish fifth in 2012 in the 11 team Atlantic 10 conference. The voting, conducted by the league's head coaches, was announced today by the league office. The Owls advanced to the playoffs a year ago for the first time since 2007, finishing fourth.
After winning the Atlantic 10 Conference Regular Season and Championship titles in 2011, the Fordham Rams have been predicted to repeat as champions this season
Following Fordham in the predicted order are Massachusetts, 2011 A-10 Tournament Runner-up Saint Joseph's, Charlotte (fourth), Temple (fifth), Dayton (sixth), Saint Louis (seventh), George Washington (eighth), St. Bonaventure (ninth), Rhode Island (10th) and La Salle (11th).
The six-team, double-elimination A-10 Championship will be held May 9-12 at the Billiken Sports Center on the campus of Saint Louis University.
