Women's XC Takes 5th Place Finish At Leopard Invite; Dubrow Leads Owls With 6th-Best Time

LAFAYTTE, Pa. – Sophomore Jenna Dubrow set a new personal best time of 21:28 and was Temple's top finisher at a meet for the ninth straight time, dating back to last season. On Saturday at the Leopard Invitational, hosted by Lafayette College, she hauled in a sixth place finish to ignite the Owls to a fifth place overall finish.
Junior Anna Pavone also turned in a strong finish, as she completed the 6k race in a personal best time of 22:17 to earn 21st place.
“I wanted the women to get out front at the beginning and give themselves a chance to be successful in the race,” assistant coach Adam Bray said. “I believed that the women really pushed hard today, which is what led to about 90 percent of the women having personal best finishes. There has been a lot of improvement on the women's side this season and they continue to improve each meet.”
Saturday's race was Temple's last tune-up before competing in the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championships on Oct. 27 on the course at Belmont Plateau at West Fairmount Park
