TEMPLE NOTES...

Coming off last weekend's devastating losses on the road at Butler and Saint Louis, the Owls return to the Ambler Sports Complex to close out their 2012 campaign this weekend. The agenda gets started this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. when the Owls welcome the Fordham Rams, before playing host to city-rival La Salle on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

Temple enters today's match with a 5-11-2 mark on the year, which has the team still playing for a better win-total than last season.
Holding a record of 2-5-0 in Atlantic 10 Conference play, the Owls are also attempting to win four games in the conference for only the second time in program history.

Senior Jourdan Brill leads the Owls' attack this season with five points, having two goals and a pair of assists. Classmate and captain Kate Yurkovic is a close second place on the team in scoring with her four points on the year. Sophomore Alyssa Kirk has stepped up to become an offensive contributor as of late. In Temple's last home match, Kirk tallied the first goal of her career, helping the Owls take down the UMass Minutewomen, 2-0, before dishing out an assist on Temple's only goal at Butler last Friday.

Ranked 14th in the nation in save percentage, the Owls' platoon of goalkeepers has been a strong anchor for a relentless defensive unit. Redshirt senior Tara Murphy is currently in fourth place in program history with 205 saves. Already this season, she has 60 saves, a goals against average of 1.24 and a save percentage of .845. Freshman Shauni Kerkhoff has gotten significant time in net this season as a rookie and has certainly been impressive. Through 11 games, she has turned away 63 shots, posted a 0.81 goals against average and built a .887 save percentage.

In their last match at the Ambler Sports Complex, the Owls picked up their biggest win under head coach Matt Gwilliam. When Temple defeated UMass, 2-0, back on Oct. 14, it was the first time Temple defeated an opponent by more than one goal under him. With that win, the Owls also picked up shutout No. 6 on the year, which not only surpassed last season's total, but marked the most in program history since 1992.

FORDHAM NOTES...
The Rams, who are in the midst of playing all three A-10 schools out of Philadelphia, arrive to the Ambler Sports Complex 7-10-0 on the year and 3-4-0 in league play. Fordham is coming off its 3-2 loss at home to A-10 travel partner La Salle last Saturday. Following today's meeting with the Owls, Fordham will head into the city for Sunday's season finale against Saint Joseph's.

Over the course of the season, Fordham has gone up against some of the best teams in the nation, including Michigan, Michigan State and Maryland, who was receiving votes in the national polls when the Rams defeated them on the road. Fordham's three A-10 wins have come against St. Bonaventure, Duquesne and George Washington. Today, the Rams, who are just 1-5-0 on the road this season, will be looking to pick up their first road conference win in more than a year.

Kristina Maksuti has guided the offense for the Rams this season with her 16 points, which includes seven of the team's 18 goals on the year. Goalkeepers Rachel Suther and Ally White have shared time in net this season. Suther has collected three shutouts on the year, while making 49 saves and building a goals against average of 2.01. White has one clean sheet to her credit and has been strong in between the posts, having a 1.54 goals against average.

ALL TIME SERIES...
Fordham holds the advantage in head-to-head matchups with the Owls, holding an 11-4-1 record. In last year's battle in the Bronx, Fordham's Jessica Widman fed Kristina Maksuti for a shot that hit the right post before going in the net, to beat Tara Murphy in the 57th minute for the game's only goal.

LA SALLE NOTES...
Before Friday's match with Saint Joseph's, the Explorers (13-4-0) were leading the A-10 with an undefeated 7-0 record in conference play. Sunday's match is an important one for La Salle, as it will be attempting to repeat as the A-10 regular season champion, while also looking to finish undefeated in A-10 play for the second straight year.

The Explorers have gotten contributions from all around the field this season, especially from sophomore Kelsey Haycook, who is the team's leader with eight goals and 20 points.  Junior Renee Washington has chipped in with six goals and 18 points of her own, while redshirt sophomore Anna Dolhansky and junior Leigh Gray have also lit up the scoreboard often this season. Senior Gabby Pakhtigian has started 16 of the team's 17 games in goal, where she has gone 12-3-0, posting five shutouts and turning in a goals against average of 0.79.

ALL TIME SERIES...
The all-time series between Temple and La Salle has been well-matched over the years. The Explorers took a one game edge last season, with a 5-1 win over the Owls at McCarthy Stadium. La Salle leads the all-time head-to-head battle, 9-8-1.
