PHILADELPHIA-- Temple head coach Steve Addazio held his weekly media luncheon on Tuesday in the Owls' Nest of Edberg-Olson Hall.

This week Temple (3-6, 2-4 BIG EAST) travels to Army (2-8) on Nov. 17 for a Noon game at Michie Stadium. CBS Sports Network will televise the game nationally.

QUOTES FROM TODAY

On Hawaii:

"We're disappointed. We had an agreement in principle. There was a great opportunity for our football program--for their football program--to play an extra game, to get a couple extra weeks of practice. Temple University did everything it could--we were set and ready to go. I guess they have their own issues out there, so they just weren't able to come through on that. I know Bill and our administration are 100% behind it, and they were willing to spend the money--whatever it took--because it was in the best interest of our program moving forward. It's a shame that it didn't come together, but it's not coming together, so that's where it is."

"The biggest thing was the extra game. That was the biggest thing. It was all about extending our season; it's a great trip, a great opportunity for a young team to keep practicing and playing. The bowl eligibility piece of it, those things are still on the table right now. We play 11 games this year, and we've just got to worry about beating Army and taking the last two games one at a time."

On Temple's proposed West Division assignment in BIG EAST play next year:
"That was our agreement going in for the first two years, and I'm good with that. That was part of the deal, and we're going to go in there and play on that side for two years and then that will change. Whether they still go East/West or they go Red/Blue, I'm not involved with all these meetings here, but for the beginning part of this thing, we will be on the Western side. I'm excited to do that. I think that'll be good. We'll still have some of our regional games in here, and I think it's a great new beginning and I'm excited for it."

How it effects recruiting:
“It's exciting. You're talking about some great trips and some great programs. You're playing nationally. It's a national perspective, and I think the kids will enjoy that. When I was at Notre Dame, we played a national schedule. I know that's a bit of a difference scenario, but it was a cool deal--going to places you've never been. It can be very, very exciting. The future is really exciting. I'm thrilled that we're a part of it, and I'm looking forward to bringing this young team into that whole new beginning. I think it's going to be nothing but growth.”
