McManus Earns Two National Honors

PHILADELPHIA – Temple senior PK/P Brandon McManus (Hatfield, Pa.) was named the national Honorable Mention Specialist and Punter of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards on Sunday.
In his final game as an Owl against Syracuse last Friday, McManus had two field goals, (47 yds., 22 yds.) and two extra points to extend his career scoring record. He finished the game with five kickoffs for 314 yards (62.8 average) and four punts for 175 yards (43.8 average).
McManus ends his career as Temple's career leader in points (338), field goals made (60), field goal attempts (83), and punting average (45.4).
In 11 games, McManus finished the 2012 season as Temple's scoring leader with 74 points. He was 32-of-33 in PAT and 14-of-15 in field goals. His kickoffs average was 63.5 yards. McManus led the BIG EAST Conference in punting (45.06).
In the NCAA stats, McManus is No. 8 in punting (45.06) and No. 35 in field goals (1.27).
The honors from CFP are McManus' 11th this season.
Temple football concluded the 2012 season at 4-7 overall and 2-5 in BIG EAST play. The Owls returned to the BIG EAST Conference this fall for the first time since 2004.
