Volleyball Sweeps La Salle on Senior Night; Earns A-10 Tournament Berth

PHILADELPHIA – With a sweep of La Salle on Senior Night, the Temple volleyball team secured a berth in next weekend's Atlantic 10 Tournament, set for Nov. 16-18 in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Owls (18-10, 8-6) were led by Elyse Burkert with 16 kills and 12 digs in their third sweep of La Salle this season.
Seedings and pairings for the A-10 Tournament will be announced following the conclusion of all regular season matches. Six teams out of 12 will earn berths.
Seniors Caitlin McMillen, Jingyu Zhang and Chelsea Tupuola were honored prior to the start of the match. Tupuola tied for match-high honors with 19 digs, while Zhang was solid with eight kills and only one error in the win.
Gabriella Matautia also recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 11 digs. Tiffany Connatser led all players with 37 assists to go with nine digs.
The Owls won by scores of 25-16, 25-23 and 25-14.
