Student-Athletes Help During Holiday Season

PHILADELPHIA – Once again this holiday season, children in the City of Philadelphia will have presents under their tree, thanks to Temple University's Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC).

Consisting of student-athletes from all 24 intercollegiate sports, SAAC collected toys during its sixth annual Toy Drive. All of the items collected (toys, books, gloves, scarves, baby items, and wrapping paper) were given to the Women Against Abuse (WAA) Emergency Shelter on Thursday.

Temple student-athletes have proven that they cannot only be successful athletically and academically but also in the community. Throughout the year, SAAC also collects money for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF and assembles baskets for its Spring Food Drive.
