In Case You Missed It...Scenes from the A-10 Tourney

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. --- Though it certainly wasn't the post-season ending the #21/24 Temple Owls were expecting, Friday's 77-71 upset by the UMass Minutemen did have its share of high points.
Many Temple fans made the short trip down the Atlantic City Expressway to show their support. Among them was Temple Football head coach Steve Addazio, just two days after it was revealed that Temple would be joining the Big East Conference for football (2012-2013 season) and all-sports in the 2013-2014 season.

Also a presence in the stands at Boardwalk Hall was the extended family of senior Juan Fernandez, who played his very last game in the historic venue on Friday afternoon. Each year, members of his family have traveled all the way from his hometown in Rio Tercero, Argentina to watch him play in the A-10 Tournament. This year his entourage grew significantly, and they certainly made themselves heard.

NOTES:
This is only the fourth time in Temple history that the team has failed to win at least one game in the A-10 Tournament. The Owls were also sent home early in 2002, 2004 and 2007....Temple lead 36-31 at halftime, but couldn't stop the bleeding of a 15-0 UMass run that spanned nearly seven-and-a-half minutes into the second half.... Junior T.J. DiLeo made his first post-season start for the Owls....Temple was able to neutralize All-Conference player Chaz Williams in the first half, holding him to only three points, but after an explosive second half, he ended the night with 20 points and 10 assists...Temple ended the game with 22 turnovers, tying the team's season-high (@ Toledo 12/07/11)....La Salle and Saint Joseph's joined the Owls in their first round exit, marking the only time in history that all three Philadelphia-based A-10 teams have lost in the same round of the A-10 Tournament.
