PHILADELPHIA – Temple University football has announced its rosters for the annual Cherry & White intra-squad scrimmage on Saturday, April 14, at 11 a.m. at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Cherry squad, coached by Ryan Day [OC/WR], Justin Frye [OL], Sean McGowan [ILB/ST], and Sean Cronin [DL], as well as staffers Travis Manger, Britt Reid, Andre Odom, Francis Brown, Nadia Harvin, Ed Foley, Dwight Stansbury, Nizarrel Townsend, Dan O'Connor, and Cathy Bongiovi, features senior RB Matt Brown, junior QB Chris Coyer, senior DB Maurice Jones, senior PK/P Brandon McManus, junior WR Deon Miller, and junior LB Gary Onuekwusi.
The White squad, coached by Chuck Heater [DC/DB], Ben Albert [OLB], Kevin Rogers [AHC/QB], Frank Leonard [TE], and Tyree Foreman [RB/RC], as well as staffers James Mangiero, Frank Piraino, Chris Trifone, Paul Kelley, Herb Hopkinson, Ehren Green, Ahmed Paden, Dave Mathewson, and Ben Cauthen, features senior DB Justin Gildea, junior QB Clinton “Juice” Granger, junior TE Chris Parthemore, junior OL Evan Regas, senior LB Ahkeem Smith, and senior DL John Youboty.
Under the guidance of second-year head coach Steve Addazio, this season's squad returns 35 lettermen, including nine starters.
Format for the scrimmage includes 15-minute quarters and normal game scoring. Kicking will only occur in scoring situations. There will be no live kickoffs or punting.
While admission is FREE, all fans need to have a ticket for entrance to the stadium. Tickets are available for pick-up at the Liacouras Center Box Office Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. until Friday, April 13. No tickets will be mailed.
The Lincoln Financial Field Box Office will have tickets for pick-up ON GAMEDAY ONLY. The Box Office will open at 9 a.m.
All fans must enter the stadium through the Comcast Gate at Head House Plaza, which opens at 10 a.m. Fans will be seated in Sections 118 to 121 in the lower level. Club level seating will not be available for the scrimmage.
Parking is FREE in Lot K to all who arrive before 11:30 a.m. Vehicles arriving after 11:30 a.m. will be charged $15 to park due to the Phillies' 4:05 p.m. game with the Mets.
The Owls open the 2012 season with Villanova in the fourth annual Mayor's Cup, sponsored by Dunkin' Donuts, at Lincoln Financial Field on Friday, August 31.
