Schoell fourth in nation in sacrifice hits per game; Pasquale fifth toughest to strike out

PHILADELPHIA – Senior Samantha Schoell and sophomore Stephanie Pasquale both maintained national rankings in the top-10 of two national statistics categories. The latest statistics are updated through games play on Sunday, April 15.

Schoell jumped two spots and is fourth in sacrifice hits per game, while Pasquale improved three spots as the fifth toughest to strikeout.

For the third year in a row, Schoell is leading the team in sacrifice hits, collecting a career-best 14 already this season. With 0.42 sacrifices per game, there are only three other players in the country with a better per game average than the team captain.

Pasquale has struck out just two times in 97 at-bats this season. The catcher has proven she has patience at the plate, finishing last season as the nation's 10th toughest to strike out with just five K's in 135 at-bats.

Temple is 17-17 overall and 5-4 in A-10 play. The Owls are in action today in a non-conference doubleheader at Lafayette, beginning at 3 p.m. The team returns home for a Wednesday doubleheader against Monmouth, also starting at 3 p.m.
