Pasquale third toughest to strike out; Schoell fifth in nation in sacrifice hits per game

PHILADELPHIA – Sophomore Stephanie Pasquale and senior Samantha Schoell both maintained national rankings in the top-10 of two national statistics categories.

Pasquale moved up four spots and is currently the third toughest to strikeout, while Schoell stayed in fifth in sacrifice hits per game.

Pasquale finished last season as the 10th toughest player to strikeout with just five in 135 at bats. The clean up hitter has struck out just once this season in 79 at bats.

For the third year in a row, Schoell is leading the team in sacrifice hits, collecting 11 already this season. With 0.42 sacrifices per game, there are only four other players in the country with a better per game average than the team captain.

Temple is 16-11 overall, 4-0 in A-10 play, and has put together a six-game win streak. The Owls are in action this afternoon with a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader start for a pair of non-conference games at Army.
