Markunas Named to IWLCA North-South Senior All-Star Game Roster

PHILADELPHIA - The honors continue to pile up for Temple lacrosse senior Stephanie Markunas, who has now been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) North-South Senior All-Star Game roster. Markunas will participate as one of 36 student-athletes in the Division I North-South All-Star Game, and as one of 18 on the South Team.
In total, six players from the Atlantic 10 made the rosters for either the North or South Team, with two of those coming from George Washington and Massachusetts and another from Duquesne.
The 2012 North-South game will take place at the Champions' Cup, held at the United Sports Training Center in Downingtown, Pa., on June 16. The event will precede the IWLCA All-American banquet, which will take place at the Radisson Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pa., later that evening.
Markunas was named to the IWLCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team this season, as well as to the Atlantic 10 First Team. She finished the season with 30 goals and 25 assists for a team-best 55 total points. Her 25 assists tie for ninth all-time in a single season at Temple, while her 47 draw controls rank sixth all-time in a single season.
