Guynn to work with Football team

PHILADELPHIA Katie Guynn (pronounced Gwinn) has been named an academic advisor for the Student-Athlete Academic Advising & Support Center at Temple University.
 
The Salem, Va., native will work primarily with the football team.
 
“We are very excited about Katie joining our staff,” said Justin Miller, Director of Student-Athlete Academic Advising & Support Center.  “She is an extremely bright, hardworking, and dedicated advisor who I am confident will quickly become an outstanding resource for our student-athletes.”
 
Guynn comes to Temple from the University of Missouri, where she worked in the Total Person Program (TPP) for two years. Most recently, she served as the interim Academic Coordinator for the men's and women's swimming and diving, volleyball, and wrestling teams. Prior to the 2011-12 academic year, Guynn worked as a graduate assistant in the TPP for the Mizzou football and volleyball teams.
 
She completed a year-long internship in Public and Media Relations at the NCAA National Office in Indianapolis.
 
A 2009 graduate of Wellesley College with a bachelor's degree in German Studies, Guynn was a four-year member of both the soccer and swimming teams and served as captain of both during her senior seasons. Guynn also worked in Sports Information during her time at Wellesley. Guynn earned her Masters of Education in 2012 from Missouri.
