Temple's BIG EAST Media Day Notes
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The BIG EAST Digital Network, anchored online at www.bigeast.org and on-the-go with the official BIG EAST mobile and tablet applications at www.bigeastmobile.com, will once again serve as the exclusive home to the only live show at BIG EAST Football Media day (#BEMediaDay) July 31 in Newport, R.I., beginning at 8:55 a.m. ET.
Hosted by the voices of the BIG EAST-IMG College Radio Network Game of the Week John Rooke and Pete Brock, fans will be able to watch live for free as coaches and select players from their favorite BIG EAST school preview the upcoming season.
The show will be the first place fans can see the results of the conference's preseason media poll. In addition, the show will feature interviews with players and coaches from every team and other select guests, including interim Commissioner Joe Bailey and Senior Associate Commissioner for Football and Marketing Nick Carparelli who will speak to the current state of the Conference and other topics pertinent to college athletics as a whole.
“We've crafted our coverage of media day through the eyes of our most passionate fans,” said BIG EAST Senior Director of External Affairs Ben Fairclough, who oversees the conference's digital production efforts. “We continue to improve the depth and breadth of our coverage to provide the most relevant content possible for fans in Tampa, Cincinnati, Philadelphia and everywhere in between.”
#BEMediaDay will be the official hashtag for event on Twitter and Instagram. Fans can use that hashtag to submit questions to be asked of head coaches and players.
The live show is just one part of the BIG EAST's online coverage of the 2012 Summer Kickoff. Fans will be able to access exclusive team previews, schedules, rosters, depth charts and more in the days leading up to the event. In addition, the conference will post exclusive on-demand video programming before and after the event, including exclusive team video previews during the month of August leading up to the start of the season.
