HARRISONBURG, Va. –
The most challenging portion of Temple's schedule arrives this weekend, as it heads to Harrisonburg, Va. for the Fairfield Inn by Marriott Invitational, where it will meet a pair of perennial Colonial Athletic Association powerhouses Hofstra Friday at 5:00 p.m. and tournament host James Madison Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Both games can be followed by clicking the link above. In their last time out, the Owls (0-0-1) settled for a 1-1 draw in their season-opener at Stony Brook. Senior captain Kate Yurkovic provided the only goal for Temple in the 25th minute of the match, while redshirt senior Tara Murphy made nine saves in net.  When the Owls take the field against Hofstra, they will be looking to open the season undefeated through its first two games for the second straight year and for the third time in program history.

Hofstra (1-0-0), who the Owls are playing for the first-time ever, begins play in this weekend's tournament fresh off a 2-0 win over Ohio State, which triggered them to earn votes in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire national poll. The Pride are also ranked No. 2 in this week's NSCAA Mid-Atlantic regional poll, behind only La Salle.

In their season-opening win, sophomores Lulu Echeverry and Sam Scolarici tallied goals to lead the Pride to victory, as keeper Emily Morphitis had a very easy day in net, needing to make only one save to record the shutout. On Sunday, when the tournament picks up play, Hofstra will take on Georgetown out of the Big East.

The Owls' weekend agenda picks up Sunday afternoon with a match with the James Madison Dukes. Temple and JMU are meeting for the fourth time in history and for the first time since 1994. The Dukes lead the all-time series, 3-0.

Hosting the weekend tournament, JMU is 1-0-0 after clinching a 2-1 victory in overtime in its season-opener against Marshall last weekend. The Owls are the first of three Philadelphia-based schools the Dukes will take on this season, as they will head to Penn next Friday and will close out the season on its home field when it welcomes CAA rival Drexel.

Junior Lauren Wilson racked up three points in the team's first match of the season, having a goal and the assist on redshirt senior Kelly Germain's game-winning goal. Kate Courter stood strong in net for JMU, as she made five saves to limit Marshall to just one goal.

Following this weekend's tournament, the Owls will return to campus to begin preparing for their home-opener next Friday when New Jersey Institute of Technology rolls into Ambler.
