Seniors DB Justin Gildea (Hollidaysburg, Pa.), DE Marcus Green (Scotch Plains, N.J.), and OL Martin Wallace (New York, N.Y.) are the Owl leaders. A fourth game captain will be selected for each contest.
Gildea, a 2012 preseason All-BIG EAST selection by Phil Steele's College Football and College Sports Madness, started all 13 games at strong safety last fall. He was one of nine Owls to start every game. Gildea finished with 15 tackles and a team-best three interceptions on the season. A legal studies major, Gildea earned academic recognition as a member of the Mid-American Conference Honor Roll, the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Football Team, and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Green played in all 13 games in 2011 while also contributing on the punt and field goal defense units. The finance major was cited on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Wallace, a 2012 preseason All-BIG EAST selection by Phil Steele's College Football and College Sports Madness, started all 13 games at right tackle last fall. He is majoring in criminal justice.
