Men's Basketball Hosts Defending A10 Champion St. Bonaventure Saturday

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's basketball team welcomes defending Atlantic 10 Conference Champion St. Bonaventure to the Liacouras Center Saturday for a 1:00 p.m. game that will be televised nationally by CBS Sports Network. The game can also be heard on the home of Temple Basketball, 1210 AM WPHT.
All children 14 years and younger will get a life-size Rahlir Hollis Jefferson growth chart. Temple Athletics will also hold its 10th Annual Owl Club Auction in conjunction with the game. Bidding on the silent auction will start at 11:30 a.m. with a live auction to follow at the conclusion of the game. It is also Hatfield "Dollar Dog" Day at the Liacouras Center.
The Owls, under the direction of head coach Fran Dunphy, are 12-4 and 2-1 in Atlantic 10 Conference play following Wednesday's 55-53 win at George Washington. Senior guard Khalif Wyatt continues to lead the Cherry and White in scoring (16.1 ppg.) as well as assists (3.9 apg.). Sophomore forward Anthony Lee ranks second in scoring (11.9 ppg.) while leading the team in rebounding (7.2 rpg.).
Senior forward Scootie Randall also scores in double figures, averaging 11.4 points per game while pulling down 7.0 rebounds. Senior forward Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson (8.6 ppg., 5.6 rpg.) and sophomore Will Cummings (5.9 ppg.) round out the starting five. Graduate students Jake O'Brien (7.2 ppg.) and T.J. DiLeo (2.5 ppg.) are the top reserves on the squad.
St. Bonaventure (7-9, 0-3 A10), under the direction of head coach Mark Schmidt, enters play on a six-game losing skid with its most recent setback coming at home to Xavier (66-64, 1/16). The Bonnies are led by senior forwards Demetrius Conger (13.8 ppg., 6.9 rpg.) and Chris Johnson (13.0 ppg.). Senior guard Eric Mosley, the Bonnies top reserve, also averages double figures (10.3 ppg.).
Temple owns a 53-6 advantage in the series and has won the last 15 meetings. The Owls are also a perfect 30-0 at home against the Bonnies. The last SBU win over Temple came on January 15, 2000, a 57-56 decision at the Reilly Center.
