10.12.13 | Men's Soccer
PHILADELPHIA - Temple men's soccer tied USF 1-1 at Dunning-Cohen Champions Field at Penn Park on Saturday afternoon in American Athletic Conference action. The tie gives Temple (7-3-3, 0-1-3) another point in the conference standings, as they have earned ties in three straight conference games.
It took only two minutes for USF to get on the scoreboard. Lindo Muckette capitalized off an Owls' turnover and scored an unassisted goal.
Temple fought back to get in the game, and were rewarded with a goal for their effort. Off a throw in by Sawyer Hemmer, Ryan Bradbury headed the ball to the ground where Chas Wilson was able to shoot it past the goalkeeper in the 28th minute. It was Wilson's second goal of the season.
After the goal, both teams traded chances for the rest of the game. Neither team could convert. The game went into two overtimes with neither team taking advantage of opportunities in extra play.
Goalkeeper Dan Scheck made one save in the game.
The Owls continue conference play with a home game against Memphis next Saturday at 3:00 p.m. The Owls will look to get their first ever American Athletic Conference. The Owls are unbeaten at home, and will look to get a victory over a Tigers team that is 7-4-1, 2-2-0.
