Women's Soccer Falls at USF 1-0

10.4.13 | Women's Soccer

TAMPA, Fla. – Women's Soccer dropped an American Athletic Conference game at Corbett Stadium to USF 1-0 on Friday night.  The loss drops Temple's record to 6-5-1, 1-2-0.

Both teams were scoreless in the first half.  USF had control of the ball the majority of the half, and it reflected in the shots category with the Bulls holding a 10-5 advantage.  Shauni Kerkhoff made critical saves and plays to not allow the Bulls to score.

USF really took control of the game in the second half, and scored the game's only goal in the 47th minute.  Cristin Granados took a pass from Demi Strokes and scored from the right side of the box about 15 yards out.

The Owls could not create any quality scoring chances after the goal and were held without a shot in the second half.  The Bull outshot Temple 21-5 in the game.

Goalkeeper Shauni Kerkhoff made six saves for the Owls.

The Owls continue their weekend Florida road trip with a game against no. 24 UCF on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.  The preseason conference favorite Knights are 9-2-1, 2-0-0 and unbeaten in their last eight games (7-0-1, 2-0-0).
