Layton Takes CFPA Honors

Senior Punter Paul Layton has been named the National Punter of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards. Layton did his part to change field position Saturday, pinning #7 Louisville and Teddy Bridgewater in their own end most of the day. He held a 51.2 yard average on 4 punts, including 3 inside the 20, with a long of 67. On the season, Layton is averaging 44.7 yards per punt, which is 16th in the nation and third best in the American Athletic Conference.



Temple is on the road this week, heading to Cincinnati where they will face the Bearcats in an American Athletic Conference game. Upon their return the Owls will celebrate Homecoming and Military Appreciation Day at Lincoln Financial Field against Army. Kickoff is scheduled for a 1:00pm start.
