Shipp Named to Women’s Basketball Honor Rolls

PHILADELPHIA – Temple senior Shi-Heria Shipp (Salisbury, N.C.) has been named to the American Athletic Conference and Philadelphia Big 5 women's basketball Honor Rolls, honoring players for the first week of play.
In Friday's Big 5 win at La Salle, Shipp led the team with a career-high 18 points in her debut as an Owl (previous high was 16 points at North Carolina A&T, 1/6/13). She also recorded a game-best five steals and shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line in 38 minutes of action. Eight of her 18 points came during a 19-0 run in the second half.
Shipp is in her first season with Temple. A transfer from George Washington after four seasons, she received a fifth year of eligibility from the NCA after suffering a season-ending knee injury in 2010-11. She received her bachelor's degree from GW in May 2013 in sociology. Shipp is pursuing a master's degree in adult & organizational development at Temple.
The Temple Owls (1-0) travel to Delaware (1-0) on Tuesday, Nov. 12 for a 7 p.m. game at the Bob Carpenter Center. The Owls' home opener is slated for Saturday, Nov. 16 against Auburn at 6 p.m. in McGonigle Hall. For season ticket information, call 215-204-8499.
