Men's Basketball Shuffles Off To Charleston for a Classic Tournament

Charleston, SC - The Temple men's basketball team (1-2) will be looking to snap its two-game losing streak when it takes the TD Arena Thursday night (8:00 p.m./ESPN3/1210 AM WPHT) to take on the Clemson Tigers (3-0).
• Temple will be facing Clemson for the second time in the Charleston Classic, after losing to the Tigers in the final game back in 2008, 76-72.
• The Owls, who are 85-65 in regular season tournament play, will be looking for their first in-season tournament championship since the 1998 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic.
• Temple is coming off back-to-back losses to Kent State (81-77) and at Towson (75-69) after having late second-half leads in both contests.
• Anthony Lee led Temple with 20 points, one shy of his career-high, in the loss at Towson. He also led TU with nine rebounds.
• Lee posted his sixth and seventh career double-doubles in the Owls' first two games (12 pts/12 rebs at Penn, 16 pts/11 rebs vs. Kent State).
• Will Cummings has scored a career-high 18 points in two games, in the Owls' win at Penn and in the loss at Towson.
• Quenton DeCosey scored a career-high 16 points vs. Kent State and hit 3-of-5 from behind the arc.
• Clemson is off to a 3-0 start after posting a 71-57 win over South Carolina Sunday.
• K.J. McDaniels leads the Tigers in scoring (17.3 ppg.), rebounding (7.3 rpg.) and blocks (13).
• Rod Hall and Jordan Roper each average 10.3 points per game for the ACC squad.
• The Owls have met their second round opponents just three times, losing the lone meeting to Davidson (63-60, 12/19/67) while splitting two meetings with Georgia, the last a 65-58 win at the 2010 Old Spice Classic in Orlando.Â
