Men's Basketball Looks To End Skid Against Georgia Tonight

CHARLESTON, SC - The Temple men's basketball team will look to end its current three-game losing streak when the Owls take the court tonight (7:00 pm) at TD Arena to take on the Georgia Bulldogs, The game will be carried by ESPN3 and can be heard on 1210 AM WPHT.

• Temple will be facing Georgia in the consolation round of a tournament for the second time in the last four seasons.

• The Owls defeated the Bulldogs, 65-58, after a first round loss to California in the 2010 Old Spice Classic held in Orlando, Fla.

• Temple is trying to snap its first three-game losing streak since dropping a trio of games to Kansas, Long Beach State and Villanova - all on the road - from Dec. 20-29, 2008.

• Will Cummings scored a career-high 22 points in the 72-58 first round loss to Clemson. He had previously scored career-highs of 18 points in two games this season.

• Quenton DeCosey was the only other Owl in double figures, tallying 15 points.

• Georgia, which dropped a 94-82 decision to Davidson in the first round of the Charleston Classic, is off to a 1-2 start.

• Charles Mann is one of three Bulldogs averaging double figures, leads the squad in scoring (16.3 ppg.) and assists (10).

• Nemanja Djurisic (13.3 ppg.) and Kenny Gaines (12.0 ppg.) also score in double digits.

• The Owls have met their second round opponent just twice. Prior to the Old Spice Classic, the teams squared off in the 1982 NIT with the Bulldogs ending the Owls season in Athens, 73-60.
