Marcopolus Earns Atlantic 10 Softball Rookie of the Week Award

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Temple's Annie Marcopolus (Newtown, Pa./Notre Dame (N.J.)) was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Softball Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 3, 2013. It is the first honor of Marcopolus's career.
Last weekend, Marcopolus went 7-for-12 (.583) in four games. She led all Temple batters on the week, recording five RBI and one homerun and a slugging percentage of .833. In TU's lone win, the outfielder went 3-for-4 with four RBI and a homerun. Her .538 average is leading the squad.
The Owls are 2-7 after two challenging tournaments to open 2013. The squad will kick off play at the USF Under Armour Showcase against Quinnipiac at 4:45 p.m. on March 8.
