BIG EAST Announces Finalized 2013 Football Schedule

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The BIG EAST Conference announced its finalized 2013 football schedule on Wednesday.
Temple opens the 2013 season at Notre Dame on August 31.
In their home opener, the Owls host conference newcomer Houston in BIG EAST play on Sept. 7 at Lincoln Financial Field. TU hosts Fordham (Sept. 14) and will enjoy a bye week before visiting Idaho (Sept. 28).
Defending BIG EAST champion Louisville comes to Philadelphia on Oct. 5. The Owls will have a shortened-game week of preparation before heading to Cincinnati on Friday, Oct. 11 for a nationally televised game on ESPN/ESPN2 (kickoff time TBA).
Temple returns home to Lincoln Financial Field on Oct. 19 to host Army in its last non-conference contest.
The Owls hit the road for back-to-back games, heading to Southern Methodist on Oct. 26 and regional rival Rutgers on Nov. 2.
Following a second bye week, Temple closes out the slate with home games with Central Florida (Nov. 16) and Connecticut (Nov. 23) and its season finale at Memphis (Nov. 30).
Entering its 16th season overall, Temple enters its second consecutive season since returning to BIG EAST play The 2013 season marks the first year of BIG EAST competition for UCF, Houston, Memphis, and SMU.
All home contests are played at Lincoln Financial Field. Kickoff times and television networks will be announced at a later date.
The Owls begin spring practice on March 22. The squad's annual Cherry & White spring game is slated for Saturday, April 20 at 1 p.m. at Edberg-Olson Hall. Temple returns 46 letterwinners and 15 starters, including Freshman All-American and BIG EAST Rookie of the Year Tyler Matakevich.
Season tickets for 2013 are now on sale, starting at just $12.50 per game and include priority access for Temple vs. Notre Dame in 2013 and 2014. Season tickets include discounted seats for all six home games, priority access to purchase tickets for the August 31 match-up at Notre Dame, and additional savings for season tickets in 2014.
