Two Softball Players Remain Ranked in Top-Five of National Statistics Categories

4.2.13 | Softball

PHILADELPHIA Two Temple softball players sit in the top-five of three different categories of the national statistics, released on Monday, April 1. Senior Gina Sciarrone (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert's) is present in one category, while junior Stephanie Pasquale (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) ranks on two lists. In addition, the team is in the top-25 in one category.

Sciarrone is second in the nation in hit by pitch per game. Through 19 games played, the first baseman has been hit 10 times.

Pasquale is present in the top-five of the doubles per game and toughest to strikeout categories. In 25 games, Pasquale has clubbed 11 doubles, which ranks as the fifth best per game total in the country. And, for the third year in a row, she is proving patient at the plate, striking out just once so far this season for the second best mark.

As a team, Temple has hit 27 homeruns, which puts the team 25th among the 290 teams ranked in homeruns per game.

The Owls are 11-14 overall and have won five straight. The squad hosts Lafayette for a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday, April 2, beginning at 3 p.m.
