Harris, Youboty Sign Free Agent Contracts

PHILADELPHIA– All-American running back Montel Harris (Jacksonville, Fla.) and DE John Youboty (Houston, Texas) have signed rookie free agent contracts with NFL teams.
Harris joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Youboty signed with the Denver Broncos.
The duo joins Owls PK/P Brandon McManus (Indianapolis Colts) and OL Martin Wallace (Cleveland Browns) as signed rookie free agents this spring.
A preseason All-American and a 2012 first-team All-BIG EAST honoree, Harris led the nation with 27 career 100-yard rushing games, including five with TU in 2012. He led Temple and the BIG EAST in rushing with 1,054 yards and 12 touchdowns on 196 carries on the season. Harris rushed for career highs of 351 yards and seven touchdowns (both school records and BIG EAST records) at Army. He played in the East-West Shrine Game®. Harris participated in the 2013 NFL Combine. He received his degree in communications from Boston College in 2012.
A second-team All-BIG EAST selection in 2012, Youboty started all 11 games at defensive end. He was one of just seven Owls to start every game and also played on the field goal defense unit. Youboty finished the season with 42 tackles, including 28 solo stops and 6.0 TFL, a team-best five sacks, two hurries, a forced fumble, and a break-up. His older brother Ashton is a defensive back with the Buffalo Bills.

Temple opens the 2013 season at Notre Dame on August 31. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. on NBC.
