PHILADELPHIA – Junior shortstop Sarah Prezioso (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) has picked up a second player of the week honor, being named the Madness Atlantic 10 Softball Player of the Week by College Sports Madness, announced Monday evening.

Prezioso had already been honored by the conference with its weekly award, and named the Under Armour Athlete of the Week by Temple Athletic Communications earlier in the day.

Prezioso batted .560 (14-for-25) with five home runs, 10 RBI, 11 runs scored and seven stolen bases to lead the Owls to a record of 5-2 for the week. The junior from Bloomfield, N.J., recorded at least one stolen base in six of the seven games last week and recorded multi-hit performances in five consecutive games. Against A-10 opponents for the week, the shortstop batted .688 (11-for-16) with five home runs, two doubles and nine RBI. Prezioso set the Temple single-season record for runs scored over the weekend, and is just one stolen base shy of tying the TU single-season standard.

The Owls are 26-22 overall and 13-5 in Atlantic 10 play. Temple, tied for third place in the conference standings, plays its final two non-conference games with a single game at Iona on Tuesday (2:30 p.m.) and a single game against Delaware State Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. at Temple Softball Stadium in Ambler, Pa. The Cherry & White close out the regular season with a pair of single games at George Washington on Friday and Saturday, before hosting Fordham for a doubleheader on Sunday, May 5, for Senior Day.
