Pasquale Still Leading Nation in One Statistical Category; Team Rises to Top-Four for Homeruns Per Game

4.30.13 | Softball

PHILADELPHIA Junior Stephanie Pasquale (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) continues to lead the country in one statistical category and the catcher sits in the top 10 of two others in the most recent statistics that were released by the NCAA on Monday, April 29. After a monster week in which the team hit 23 homeruns in seven games, the squad has climbed seven spots in homeruns per game and sits in the top 10 in one other list.

With just two strikeouts in 150 at bats this year, Pasquale is the toughest player in the country to strikeout. It is the third year in a row the junior is nationally ranked in the category as she has only struck out 14 times in 423 career at bats.

In addition, Pasquale is ranked in the top 10 of two categories she has already set Temple single-season records in this year. The slugger is fourth in the nation in runs batted in per game (1.31) and sixth in doubles per game (0.4).

As a team, the Owls have clubbed a school single-season record 80 homeruns on the year and, after hitting 23 last week, are the fourth best team in the country when it comes to hitting round trippers, belting 1.67 per game. The team power is also evident with an eighth place ranking in slugging percentage (.543).

Several other Temple players are individually ranked among the top 150 players in the country in statistical categories. To see where the TU players and team stack up, visit this link.
