Pasquale Picks Up Another Weekly Award, Named NFCA.org Co-National Player of the Week

4.9.13 | Softball

PHILADELPHIA – The weekly honors keep rolling in for Temple's Stephanie Pasquale (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) after a stellar individual performance at the plate last week.  The junior has been named the NFCA.org Co-National Player of the Week for the week ending April 7, 2013.

Pasquale shares the award with Hofstra pitcher Olivia Galati. She has also picked up the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week award and the Under Armour OwlSports.com Athlete of the Week honor.

Pasquale batted .682 (15-for-22) in a 5-1 week with four multi-hit games, five home runs, four doubles and 21 RBI. Perhaps most impressive was the day she had in a doubleheader sweep of Atlantic 10 foe St. Bonaventure. The junior went 9-for-9 with four homers, two doubles and 11 runs batted in. In a game against Wagner on Thursday, Pasquale recorded her 100th career RBI. In the second game of the twinbill against the Bonnies, the catcher set three Temple records, including single-season RBI, single-season doubles and career RBI.

The Owls are 16-15 overall and 5-1 in Atlantic 10 play. The Owls, winners in 10 of their last 11 games, host Saint Joseph's on Tuesday, April 9, for a pair of critical games in conference play that will determine first place. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 3 p.m.
