Softball Individuals and Team Nationally Ranked in NCAA Statistics

PHILADELPHIA – Junior Stephanie Pasquale (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes) leads the country in two statistical categories and the catcher sits in the top 10 of two others in the most recent statistics that were released by the NCAA on Monday, May 6. In addition, as a team, Temple sits in the top 10 of two categories.
With just three strikeouts in 173 at bats this year, Pasquale is the toughest player in the country to strikeout. It is the third year in a row the junior is nationally ranked in the category as she has only struck out 15 times in 446 career at bats. In addition, with a Temple and Atlantic 10 single-season record 74 RBI, Pasquale leads the nation with 1.37 per game. The slugger is also ninth in the nation in batting average (.462) and doubles per game (0.37).
As a team, the Owls have clubbed a school and conference single-season record 91 homeruns on the year and are the second best team in the country when it comes to hitting round trippers, trailing North Carolina State by just percentage points with 1.69 per game. The team power is also evident with a ninth place ranking in slugging percentage (.547).
