Former Temple Softball Player Rachel Knable Competing at The Maccabiah 2013

PHILADELPHIA – Former Temple softball player Rachel Knable (Cherry Hill, N.J./Cherry Hill West) is currently competing at The Maccabiah 2013 in Israel. Knable, who played her final season for the Owls in 2012, is competing on the Open squad for Team USA.
The Maccabiah is the world's largest Jewish athletic competition, and third largest sporting event in the world, in the tradition and values of Maccabi, emphasizing the centrality of the State of Israel in the life of the Jewish people. The Maccabiah takes place every four (4) years in Israel - "the Jewish Olympics" as they are often called, are Maccabi World Union's largest and most famous enterprise.
Knable, an Atlantic 10 all-conference performer during her career with the Owls, is part of a 14-member softball team that will play in a round robin format against Canada and Israel, playing each team three times, from July 21-25. The finals and grand finals will take place on July 28 and July 29.
