Cross Country Schedule Set for Inaugural Season in the American Athletic Conference

PHILADELPHIA – Eric Mobley, Temple's head coach for men's and women's track & field and cross country, has announced the cross country schedule for the Owls' inaugural season in the newly-created American Athletic Conference. The 2013 season begins for Temple at the Lehigh Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 31.
The Owls will serve as the host of the Friend Big 5 Invitational on Sept. 13, their second meet of the season, which will take place at their practice course at Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park.
After an Oct. 5 meet at Lehigh (40th annual Paul Short Invitational) and an Oct. 19 race at Lafayette College (Leopard Invitational), Temple will compete in the first-ever American Athletic Conference Championship. The University of Connecticut will host the championship, set for Nov. 2.
Lehigh will serve as the host of the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship on Nov. 15. The following weekend will be the IC4A Championship (men) and ECAC Championship (women) at Van Courtland Park in the Bronx, N.Y. The 2013 season wraps up with the NCAA Championships hosted by Indiana State University on Nov. 23.
