PHILADELPHIA (08/21/13) – Temple University's football opener at Notre Dame on August 31 will be broadcast live on 97.5 The Fanatic. The game, which kicks off at 3:30 p.m., was moved from 1210 AM WPHT, the radio home of Temple Football, due to a conflict with a Philadelphia Phillies game that afternoon.
The game will also be televised nationally by NBC.
"We are thankful to be able to work with the management at both stations to ensure that Temple fans are able to follow their Owls on the radio as they travel to South Bend to take on the Fighting Irish to open the 2013 season"," said Larry Dougherty, Temple University's Senior Associate Athletic Director.
Harry Donahue, who is entering his 19th season as the "Voice of Temple Football", will handle play-by-play duties while Paul Palmer, who finished second in the 1986 Heisman Trophy voting, is in his first season as color analyst. Palmer previously had served as a sideline reporter on Owls' broadcasts from 2001 through 2004.
The home/American Athletic Conference opener with Houston is slated for Sept. 7 at Noon at Lincoln Financial Field.
Temple Football full and partial season ticket packages are still available by calling 215-204-8499.
