Temple Men's Gymnastics Finishes Fourth at Navy Open

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Temple men's gymnastics finished fourth at the Navy Open on Saturday night with a total score of 398.05.  No. 5 Penn State won the open with a score of 420.90.

No. 12 William and Mary (414.25) finished second, and No. 15 Navy (408.10) was third.  Springfield (391.80) finished fifth.

Temple's best scoring event came on the still rings with a score of 68.30.  Evan Eigner had the third best score of the open in the still rings event.  He had a difficult score of 15.8, and received a 9.2 and 9.3 execution score from the judges to earn a 15.05, the best score of any Owls in the open.

The second best scoring event for Temple occurred at vault with a score of 68.30.  Jon Rydzefski had the top score for Temple in the event, 14.15, which was the eight highest in the meet.

Rydzefski once again led the way for the Owls on the parallel bars, with the seventh highest score of 13.9.  Overall, Temple finished with 68.20.

Temple finished the floor exercise with a score of 67.45.  Brendan Williams had the sixth best score, earning a 13.9.

On the pommel horse, Temple earned a team score of 64.25. Charles Baldi posted a top ten score in the event with a 13.6.

On the high bar, Temple scored a 63.55.

Temple returns to action next Sunday, Feb. 2nd in a dual meet at Springfield at 2:00 p.m.
