Football Prepares to Battle with Cincinnati
11.25.14 | Football
PHILADELPHIA- Following a loss to in-state rival Penn State and coming out of the final bye week of the 2014 season, head coach Matt Rhule spoke with the media about the Owls' upcoming matchup with the Cincinnati Bearcats. The November 29 game will be broadcast from Lincoln Financial Field on ESPNews with a 12 p.m. kickoff. Those in the Philadelphia area can listen to the game on 1210 AM WPHT with Harry Donahue (play-by-play), Paul Palmer (analyst) and Harry Mayes (sidelines).
Below is Coach Rhule's opening statement:
"Thank you very much for coming, I appreciate you adjusting your schedule as we had to adjust our schedule this week with it being fall break and our players being away. We've had a good couple of days of practice, we've got some guys healthy, and we're looking forward to playing an outstanding Cincinnati team this week. It's a great opportunity to highlight and showcase our seniors; we're very grateful for them, they've been through quite a bit, and for them to have us in the position we're in right now is a credit to them, their versatility and resiliency, and hopefully we'll finish the way we know we can.
Cincinnati comes in, head coach Tommy Tuberville has done a great job there, and they've obviously been good for a long time. They have a veteran group, a dynamic offense, and a tough, strong defense. It'll be a challenge for us, but it will be a good challenge, one we're excited about; we're looking to play our best football at the end and we'll need to do that to play this team."
