Football Looks to Become Bowl Eligibile Against Tulane
12.2.14 | Football
PHILADELPHIA – After dropping a close home finale to Cincinnati, 14-6, on November 29, head coach Matt Rhule held his weekly press conference to discuss the Owls' upcoming season finale against the Tulane Green Wave.
The December 6 matchup will be broadcast on ESPN2 with a kickoff time at 7:30 p.m. E.T. Those in the Philadelphia area can listen to the game on 1210 AM WPHT with Harry Donahue (play-by-play), Paul Palmer (analyst) and Harry Mayes (sidelines).
Below is Coach Rhule's opening statement:
"Thank you for coming to this press conference; the last one before last regular season game of the year. We're excited to have a chance to play this game in New Orleans, a place where many of our kids haven't been, to have the chance to play an outstanding, young football team at Tulane, coached by Curtis Johnson who is just a great guy to be around, a great coach who is doing an excellent job there.
The biggest thing for us is for our kids to come down to the final week with something on the line – the chance to get bowl eligible. Many of them have not done that yet, so it would be a step in the right direction for us. We're practicing as hard as we can in the dreary weather today and we look forward to playing our best game, and I think we need to play our best game as we take on this talented Tulane team."
