Men's Gymnastics Places Third in Final Home Meet of the Season

PHILADELPHIA – Men's gymnastics placed third in their final meet of the 2014 season at McGonigle Hall, with Air Force placing first with 424.55 points. Illinois at Chicago placed second with 403.55 while Temple finished with 402.5.
Temple first started out on the floor, earning a 69.5 which was the best event score for the Owls. Brendan Williams had the top score for Temple with a 14.15.
Up next for Temple was the pommel horse, where the Owls got a 63.5. Michael Bittner earned a 13.55 with a difficulty score of 14.8.
Evan Eigner once again led Temple on the rings with a 14.4 and placing third in the meet for the event.
Jon Rydzefski led Temple on vault with a 14.4, with Casey Polizzoto right behind him with a 14.35.
Temple finished the meet with the parallel bars and high bar. The Owls finished with a 67.1 on parallel bars and a 66.35 on high bar. Scott Haddaway and Rydzefski tied each other on parallel bars with a 13.65. Rydzefski had the top score on high bar with a 14.15.
Rydzefski placed first in the all-around with a 81.45. Jakob Welsh was third with 78.65.
Temple is off the entire next week before heading to West Point on Friday, March 28 against Army at 6:00 p.m.
