Women's Tennis Drops 4-2 Decision to Stony Brook

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Temple women's tennis team dropped a 4-2 decision to Stony Brook on Friday, February 21. The match was played at Lehigh University.
The Seawolves jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a win at the first singles flight. TU pulled ahead 2-1 with wins at the second and fourth flights. Yana Mavrina battled to defeat Adey Osabuohien at No. 2, 6-1, 1-6, 13-11, and Minami Okajima took a 6-0, 6-4 decision against Becky Shtilkind at the fourth flight to build the lead.
It was shortlived, however, as Stony Brook went on to win the final three matches. No doubles were played.
TU is off for a week before traveling to Hampton for a 12 p.m. match on Saturday, March 1.
