Temple Teams with Art Museum for Arms and Armor Celebration
2.3.14 | Football
On Super Bowl Sunday, a group of Temple Owl football players spent part of the day at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. They didn't run the Rocky steps; they took part in the Museum's Arms and Armor Celebration.
To draw attention to their tremendous display of armor, shields, swords, and other Medieval Knight equipment, the Museum asked other professionals who wear more modern day armor to teach kids about the similarities and differences. Joining the Temple Owls – Matt Barone, Jim Cooper, Brandon Shippen, Nate L. Smith, and Marc Tyson – were local firefighters, the Fencing Academy of Philadelphia, and an armadillo and turtles from the Philadelphia Zoo.
