· The 2014 Class of 25 players represent nine states - Pennsylvania (7), New Jersey (6), Florida (5), Colorado (1), Connecticut (1), Maryland (1), Mississippi (2), New York (1), and Virginia (1).
· The Owls recruited evenly adding 13 players on defense (including eight who play in the secondary) and added 12 offensive players (going heavy at the wide receiver position with six additions).
· Four players - Cequan Jefferson, Shahid Lovett, Derrek Thomas, and Alex Wells are mid-year transfers and have been enrolled at Temple since January 20, 2014.
· Five of Temple's 2014 freshmen come from just two high schools - Gateway HS in Monroeville, PA, and Jefferson HS in Tampa, FL. Anthony Davis, Delvon Randall, and Brenon Thrift attended Gateway together and Ventell Bryant and Derrick Ingram were teammates at Jefferson.
· Jacob Martin's brother, Josh, plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. In fact, it was Josh who helped Temple land its first Colorado recruit. The Chiefs employ two former Temple graduate assistants - Britt Reid and Mark DeLeone - on their coaching staff, and it was a conversation between Josh, Britt and Mark that led Temple to take a look at Jacob.
· Michael Dogbe is the third consecutive Newark Star-Ledger player of the year to sign with Temple. QB P.J. Walker (2012) and WR Kalif Herbin (2011) were the others.
· Six recruits played together on the North team at the 2013 Chesapeake Bowl in Virginia last December - Shamir Bearfield, Sean Chandler, Michael Dogbe, James McHale, Delvon Randall, and Brenon Thrift.
· Cequan Jefferson was a teammate of Sharif Finch at Henrico HS.
· The Owls will begin Spring practices on Monday, March 24. Practices will continue every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday (with the exception of April 19). Spring ball will conclude with the annual Cherry & White game on Saturday, April 26.
· The 2014 season will get underway on Thursday night, August 28, when Temple kicks off the SEC Network in a nationally televised game at Vanderbilt. The home opener vs. Navy follows on September 6. The rest of the home slate is: Cincinnati, East Carolina, Memphis, Tulsa and Delaware State.
