Two Softball Players Ranked in Top-25 of National Statistics Categories

PHILADELPHIA – Two Temple softball players sit in the top-25 of two different categories of the national statistics, released for the first time this season on Monday, March 10. As a team, TU also ranks in the top-25 in one category.
Senior Sarah Prezioso (Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield) and sophomore Annie Marcopolus (Newtown, Pa./Notre Dame (N.J.)) are both present in the total triples and triples per game categories. Both players lead the American Athletic Conference with three triples, ranking them seventh in the nation with that number. Marcopolus also leads the league with 0.18 triples per game (three in 17 games played), ranking 21st in the country, while Prezioso is third in the conference and 25th in the nation (0.17/game).
The Owls lead the conference and rank 22nd in the nation in triples per game with 0.33/game.
The Cherry & White are 7-11 after playing in three tournaments to open the season. The squad will be playing at home for the first time in 2014, hosting Villanova for a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 18, beginning at 3 p.m.
