Softball Cancels Home Doubleheaders with Villanova and La Salle

PHILADELPHIA – The harsh winter continues to wreak havoc on the Temple softball schedule. With another round of snow hitting the region today, the team had to cancel two home doubleheaders scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.
The Owls were slated to host Villanova for a pair of games on Tuesday, March 18, followed by a twinbill with La Salle on Wednesday, March 19, but the latest snowfall has forced TU to postpone those contests. No makeup date has been announced yet.
This is the second week in a row the Temple home opener had to be postponed. The Cherry & White were set to host Delaware State last Wednesday for the first games of the season at Temple Softball Stadium in Ambler, but the field was too wet to play.
Temple is 7-11 and will play for the first time since March 8 when it travels to Houston for its first-ever American Athletic Conference games. The Owls play a doubleheader with the Cougars on Saturday, March 22, with game one beginning at 2 p.m. EST, before playing a single game on Sunday, March 23, at 1 p.m. EST.
