Temple Coaches Honored by Schuylkill Navy as Coaches of the Year

PHILADELPHIA- Temple Men's Crew head coach Gavin White and Women's Rowing head coach Rebecca Grzybowski were honored at the Schuylkill Navy Awards Banquet as 2013 Coaches of the Year. At the 11th annual banquet on Saturday March 22nd, both coaches were congratulated for their hard work and dedication to their sports, White for the 2nd time in his career.
Held at the Historic Mansion at the Smith Memorial Playground and House in Fairmount Park , the banquet awards coaches in the Philadelphia rowing community for the work they did with their teams during the previous year. Schuylkill Navy committee members, rowers and friends gather annually to celebrate the accomplishments of their own.
"It is quite the honor," said Grzybowski, "It was a great opportunity to thank all of our supporter in the Philadelphia rowing community who stood by us and encouraged us throughout the past few months"
The Owls coaches were introduced by Drexel Crew head coach, Paul Savelle, the 2012 Coach of the Year Award Recipient. Several other Schuylkill Navy members were honored in categories such as Athlete of the Year, earned by Taylor Brown and Special Award For Service to Head of the Schuylkill Regatta, earned by Christooher Blackwall of the University Barge Club.
The coaches attended alongside Temple rowing alumni, family and friends.
