Neither rain, nor snow nor sleet nor hail…..nothing stops Temple University's Football team from delivering smiles to young kids in the community.
For some, Monday's Read Across American Day celebration was cancelled when all Philadelphia city schools were closed due to a snow storm.
For James R. Lowell Elementary School, the holiday wasn't cancelled, only delayed. While Temple University is encountering spring break, this group of TU players – OL Dion Dawkins, RB Kenneth Harper, LB Praise Martin-Oguike, DB Anthony Robey, and LB Avery Williams - braved the cold on Tuesday, March 4, to pay a visit to Lowell's first and second graders to read a few Dr. Seuss books. Afterall, Read Across American Day was created to celebrate the birthday of the beloved children's book author.
