In April of 2010, the Owls made their second Friends of Jaclyn adoption when they welcomed Lily Adkins and her family into the Temple lacrosse family. Lily is now eight years old, and she will walk through the tunnel as an honorary starter before the game. Louisville delivered a crushing win over Cincinnati in its most recent game, taking down the Bearcats by a score of 23-2. Senior Day
Sunday is a special day, as Temple lacrosse will be honoring four seniors playing in their last home game at Geasey Field. Over the past four, and in one case, five, years, these seniors have been valuable contributors to the team, university and community.
#15 Lea Britton
In her four years as an Owl, Lea has played in 60 games including every game in each of the last three seasons. She has scored 13 goals in her career, and three of those goals came in three consecutive games earlier this season. Lea is a standout student off the field, and was named to Temple's Trustee Ten as a junior for having one of the top 10 grade-point-averages among all student athletes. Lea is a kinesiology major from Holland, Pa., and will be escorted by her mother, Maria Turdo, her father, Fred Britton, and her sister, Danielle Roberts.
#24 Nina Falcone
Over five years with the program, Nina has proven herself to be a valuable asset and a leader of the team. She was a team co-captain last year, and serves as a co-captain again this season. Helping anchor Temple's defensive unit, Nina has been among the team leaders in ground balls and caused turnovers for the last couple seasons. She has started in all 35 games she played in over the last three seasons, and rebounded last year after a season-ending injury suffered six games into the 2012 season. Nina is a standout in the classroom, and has been named to Temple's President's Honor Roll for the last three years for having a GPA of 3.5 or above. A speech, language and hearing sciences major, Nina hails from Collegeville, Pa. She will be escorted by her mother, Kathy, and her father, Anthony.
#25 Kelly Syphard
As a four-year member of the team and a co-captain this season, Kelly has made valuable contributions to the program. She has started in every game this season, and was a starter in all but one game as a junior. In her career, Kelly has scored 30 goals, and she recorded her third career hat trick earlier this season at UMBC. In each year she has been at Temple, Kelly has been named to the Director's Honor Roll for having a GPA above 3.0. Kelly is a psychology major from Baltimore, Maryland, and will be escorted by her mother, Ann, her father, Bob, and her sister, Katie.
#9 Jaymie Tabor
Jaymie has been one of the team's scoring leaders throughout her career at Temple, and has kicked it up a notch in her senior season, leading the team and ranking third in the BIG EAST Conference with 25 goals so far. Her goals per game average also ranks 33rd among all players in NCAA Division I. As of last weekend, Jaymie has scored in every game for the Owls this season, and her five hat tricks include a six-goal performance in a win over Oregon. In her four-year career, she has scored 88 goals for the Owls. Earlier this season, she was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week. Jaymie is a kinesiology major from Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and will be escorted by her mother, Joanne, and her father, Paul.
