PHILADELPHIAMorgyn Seigfried, a 2013 graduate of Temple, has been hired as the athletics department's social media coordinator. Seigfried, who was a four-year soccer player for the Owls, comes to Temple after a year spent working in athletics at Lipscomb University.

"We are very excited to welcome Morgyn back to Temple," said Scott Walcoff, Associate Athletic Director of Marketing & Sales. "She truly is 'Temple Made,' and her experience at Lipscomb over the last year as well as her passion for Temple will definitely help improve our social media efforts across all of our sports."

Seigfried's position at Temple is newly-created, as the athletics department looks to further its efforts in social media and community outreach.  In her role, she will coordinate the department's social media platforms, creating a strategy to enhance and promote the Temple Brand in this space.

"I am very excited and honored to be working for my alma mater," said Seigfried. "Temple is truly a special place and I look forward to working for the University and contributing to the success of Temple Athletics through social media."

In the year since her graduation, Seigfried has been working at Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn., as the athletics content and marketing manager. In addition to developing content for the website and social media outlets, she directed a number of community relations efforts for Lipscomb. Seigfried's responsibilities also extended to ticket sales, and she was tasked with redesigning the entire ticket package system for basketball.

Seigfried worked for the Philadelphia Flyers' human resources department in the spring of 2012 and 2013. Her responsibilities included interviewing NHL players and coaches, working with the media, compiling and distributing stats, and coordinating the "Stars" of each game.

While at Temple, Seigfried started in 26 games for the women's soccer team and scored five career goals as a forward and midfielder. She graduated in May, 2013 with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism. She has extensive experience working with video and photo software, and has produced documentaries and feature stories on a wide variety of topics.
