2014 Women's Soccer Schedule
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Temple women's soccer has announced their 2014 schedule. The Owls will play 10 of their first 11 games on the road to prepare for their second season in the American Athletic Conference.
The Owls will play three city rivals this year, La Salle, Drexel, and Saint Joseph's. Temple will also face three schools for the first time in program history, Cornell, East Carolina and Tulsa.
"I am very happy with the quality and variety of playing styles we will face in our 2014 non-conference schedule," said head coach Seamus O'Connor. "Having three games against other Philadelphia schools is great preparation for the intensity we will face in our American Athletic Conference games."
The Owls start the season with a road game at Binghamton on August 22nd. The first home game of the season will be against Mount St. Mary's on August 24th. Temple will then hit the road for seven straight non-conference games starting with Saint Joseph's on August 29th. Temple will play in the Cornell University Tournament in this span, facing St. Bonaventure (Sept. 12th) and then host Cornell (Sept. 14th). The streak of non-conference road games ends at La Salle on Sept. 21st.
Conference play starts on the road with two games for Temple. The Owls face Cincinnati (Sept. 25th) and then travel to East Carolina (Sept. 28th). The Owls then play five of seven conference games at home to end the season. Tulsa opens up the home slate for Temple on October 2nd followed by Memphis (Oct. 5). After taking a trip to Texas to face SMU (Oct. 9) and Houston (Oct. 12th), the Owls face a pair of Florida teams in UCF (Oct. 16th) and USF (Oct. 19th) before ending the season against UConn (Oct. 26th).
