Women's Soccer Predicted to Finish Ninth in Conference

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Temple women's soccer was predicted to finish ninth in the 2014 American Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Owls finished with 24 points, one spot ahead of Houston (10 points).
Last year's regular season and conference tournament champions UCF was predicted unanimously to finish first with 90 points followed by UConn (76), Memphis (75) and USF (69). Rounding out the rest of the voting were SMU (57), Cincinnati (50), Tulsa (43) and East Carolina (34).
UCF forward Lena Petermann and UConn forward Rachell Hill were named the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Memphis defenseman Diamond Simpson was named the Co-Preseason Defensive Player of the Year while UConn's Emily Armstrong was named the Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.
