Women's Soccer's Alyssa Kirk named American Athletic Conference Defender of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Temple women's soccer senior Alyssa Kirk was named the American Athletic Conference Defender of the Week after her performance this past weekend in wins over Binghamton and Mount St. Mary's. Gina DiTaranto was also selected to the honor roll.
Kirk anchored a defense that gave up only five shots on goal in a pair of shutout wins over Binghamton and Mount St. Mary's. The defender also scored the game-winning goal against Mount St. Mary's on a corner kick and assisted on another goal.
DiTaranto scored the game-winning goal at Binghamton and added two more goals vs. Mount St. Mary's for six points over the weekend.
The Owls return to action on Friday at city rival Saint Joseph's at 5:00 p.m.
